Chad Signs its Second Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2019–2023
Mahamat Hamid Koua, Minister of Petroleum, Mines and Energy, and Dazhu Yang, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed Chad’s Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2019–2023 on 31 December 2019 and 14 January 2020 respectively. A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

Chad has been an IAEA Member State since 2005. Its 2019–2023 CPF identifies 5 priority areas:
1.Radiation safety
2.Food and agriculture
3.Health and nutrition
4.Water and environment
5.Energy and industry
