A regional workshop co-organized by FAO, the Unit for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the Global Mechanism of UNCCD took place at the UfM headquarters from 4 to 7 November 2019, gathering participants from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Turkey and Tunisia to deepen their understanding of climate and land degradation neutrality (LDN) financing.

The training also provided assistance in developing financial project proposals that target a broad range of funding entities and are focused on reaching national commitments in the framework of the LDN and Forest and Land Restoration initiatives. Country representatives also had the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss specific knowledge needs for developing successful and result-based financial project proposals.
